Trevti Dal

Ingredients : 


Split green gram         
1/3 Cup
Split pigeon pea             
1/3 Cup
Split Bengal gram      
1/3 Cup
Turmeric powder       
1/2 Teaspoon
Ginger                           
1 Inch
Green chillies            
2
Ghee                 
1 Tablespoon
Salt                          
To taste
Onions                   
2 Large
Red chilli powder          
1/2 Teaspoon

Directions :

1.        Drain and mix the three lentils and place them in a pressure cooker. 
 2.        Add three cups of water, the turmeric powder, ginger, green chillies, one-fourth teaspoon ghee and salt, and cook under pressure till the pressure is released three times (three whistles), or till completely cooked.

3.        Heat the remaining ghee in a non-stick pan; add the onions and sauté till well browned.
4.        Stir in the chilli powder and take the pan off the heat. Just before serving, reheat the dal,
5.        Add the sautéed onions and mix well.

 Serve hot with rice.
